Dr. Jianping Xu’s research on drug-resistant fungi featured in McMaster’s Brighter World

Dr. Jianping Xu was also featured in McMaster’s Brighter World this month for his work in developing a statistically validated list of genes that contribute to drug resistance in the human pathogenic fungus Candida auris. One of the most unexpected findings of the study was that most of the genes identified had never previously been linked to drug resistance. This research will help guide the development of future therapeutics to treat C. auris infections!
