BIOLOGY 1A01 – Cellular and Molecular Biology – Laboratory Skill Development

You can now complete the equivalent of BIOLOGY 1A03 by taking two new courses—BIOLOGY 1A02 and BIOLOGY 1A01. This means more options to tailor your learning style and schedule. BIOLOGY 1A03 is still available as an engaging blended learning course; however, students have a new pathway to achieve the same learning!

BIOLOGY 1A02 (2-units) brings the lecture component of BIOLOGY 1A03 completely online, complete with assessments and invigilated exams, while BIOLOGY 1A01 (1-unit) complements these learnings through tutorials and labs. To participate in BIOLOGY 1A01, students must first complete or be registered in BIOLOGY 1A02, as well as BIOSAFE 1BS0 and WHMIS 1A00.

For the lab experience in BIOLOGY 1A01, students can tailor their schedule by selecting between weekly in-person labs (BIOLOGY 1A01 Lab Sections 1, 2, or 3) or a compressed week-long format (BIOLOGY 1A01 Lab Sections 4 or 5) with daily in-person sessions at the end of the term.
